Classic Jewish City Tour City tour judaico clásico

4 hours · private · with transport4 horas · privado · con traslado

Trace the roots that shaped Jewish life in Buenos Aires.

We start with pick-up at your accommodation and visit the places where Jewish life in Argentina began — and where it continues today.

We'll walk through the Once neighborhood, the traditional center of Jewish life in Buenos Aires, where community, textile business, and tradition have shaped the neighborhood for generations.

We'll visit AMIA, the central institution of Argentine Jewish life, and the Jewish Museum of Buenos Aires, next to the historic Libertad Synagogue, to look at the history, the traditions and the legacy of the community here. We'll also see the Gran Templo de Paso, one of the most significant synagogues in the city, and Plaza Embajada de Israel, a place of memory and remembrance, marking a tragic chapter in Buenos Aires' history.

Along the way I'll share the stories and the context behind each place, so you understand not only what you're looking at but how Jewish life in Buenos Aires evolved, from immigration to today.

The order of the visits can change depending on the opening hours of each institution and where you're staying — I always arrange the route in the most convenient way.

A day immersed in Argentine countryside and gaucho traditions.

We drive out of Buenos Aires into the pampas to discover the traditions of the Argentine countryside. This experience combines a visit to the historic town of San Antonio de Areco, the core of the gaucho culture, with an authentic day at a traditional estancia.

During our visit, we explore its historic centre, visit traditional silversmith workshops, admire its colonial architecture and learn about the customs that have shaped life in the pampas for generations.

At the estancia we're welcomed with delicious empanadas. There will be free time for a horse ride, and then the traditional lunch: a full asado over the coals — grilled meats, salads, drinks and dessert. After lunch comes the folklore show: live music and traditional dancing, and a demonstration of horsemanship skills. The day closes with a country merienda, before returning to Buenos Aires.

Walking Tour Recorrido a pie

3 hours · on foot and by local bus3 horas · a pie y en colectivo

Walk through the stories that shaped Buenos Aires. Descubrí el corazón de la City porteña.

Buenos Aires on foot. Walking through its neighbourhoods you see how the city changed over time.

We meet at Plaza de Mayo, where the city began, with a look from outside at the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral. A short stretch of Avenida de Mayo takes us to Florida, the pedestrian street at the financial and tourist heart of downtown.

We continue along Avenida Corrientes — the theatre and bookshop artery known as the street that never sleeps — cross Avenida 9 de Julio for a photo stop at the Obelisco and the Teatro Colón, and head up Avenida Alvear, the most aristocratic street in the city, lined with embassies, twentieth-century palaces and designer shops. It leads us into Recoleta: the gardens of Plaza Alvear, the Basílica del Pilar and the walls of the famous Recoleta Cemetery.

Then we take a local bus to Palermo Soho, the liveliest food, design and nightlife area in the city. Tree-lined streets, small passageways and parrillas everywhere — a good place to stay on, sit down and eat something to close the day. The tour ends here.

Empanadas and alfajores made during the cooking class, with chimichurri Two guests cooking at the kitchen counter

Welcome to My Kitchen Bienvenidos a mi cocina

3 hours · up to 3 people · Monday to Friday3 horas · hasta 3 personas · de lunes a viernes

Cook and taste two of Argentina's most beloved flavors.

I open the doors of my home for a private, hands-on cooking experience. In a real porteño kitchen you'll learn the secrets of two Argentine classics over a relaxed morning, in good company, with a glass of wine in your hand. No cooking experience needed.

We begin the experience by making the dough for the alfajores. Once the cookies are in the oven, we turn our attention to the empanadas, chopping and cooking fresh vegetables and preparing a delicious homemade filling before assembling them together.

While it cooks we talk about the history of our food, where these dishes come from and the part that eating together plays in everyday life here.

As the filling cools we assemble the alfajores with plenty of dulce de leche and a snow of shredded coconut. Then we fill the empanadas, and I'll teach you the real criollo repulgue — the fold that seals them — before they go in the oven.

The experience ends by eating the empanadas hot, with the alfajores for dessert and a good Malbec.

No hace falta experiencia previa.

About meSobre mí

Hi, I'm Débora.Hola, soy Débora.

I was born in Rosario and have called Buenos Aires home since 2012. I'm a licensed Buenos Aires tour guide and an English literary translator, with a deep passion for the city I chose to make my home.

What led me to become a tour guide? My passion for traveling. From a very young age I was fortunate to travel often, and I always listened with admiration to the stories and insights shared by the guides who accompanied me. I was fascinated by the way they brought each place to life. I believe those experiences were the starting point of my curiosity and my desire to keep learning.

Since moving here, I've never stopped discovering new corners, stories and details that make Buenos Aires so unique. Its architecture, history, culture, food and, above all, its people continue to surprise me.

I created Buen Ayre Tours to share the city I love through private and personalized experiences, adapting each tour to the interests, pace and needs of every traveler.

My goal? For you to fall in love with Buenos Aires, too.

Discover. Feel. Remember with me. Descubrí. Sentí. Recordá conmigo.
